PROMISE Guest Speaker Program

PROMISE is launched in cooperation with schools in Fort Worth Independent School District, Dallas Independent School District, Sanger Independent School District, Grand Prairies Independent School District, and Metroplex Christian Schools. The program is also affiliated with the Student Chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), Sigma Sigma Phi National Osteopathic Honorary Fraternity (SSP), American Medical Association - Medical Student Section (AMA-MSS), and the Office of Multicultural Affairs. It is developed to form a network of guest speakers from the Health Science Center to be available as a resource for local school teachers. The PROMISE guest speakers will be invited by the teachers to either teach a particular topic, provide career guidance, or talk about Osteopathic Medicine to the students.

We would like you to sign up to be our PROMISE guest speaker. Many of these schools are located near the TCOM Family Clinics where medical students do their rotations. This is a great opportunity for medical students to experience the particular environment of their future patients in the non-clinical setting.

Since these schools are located in communities with a high minority populations, we strongly encourage minority students to sign up. The mission of this guest speaker program is to provide positive role models for students, and minority role models will have an especially important impact.

Sign up to be a PROMISE guest speaker today. Leave a brief note stating your interest in BOX 300 or email the Executive Director Ruth Adell.
